Hi Jay,

I have not seen the new movie yet, but I would love to see a version made by us set in this country. I get fed up of the Americans remaking our films & books & setting them over there.

I like films, but get sick to death of American films sometimes. It's so nice to see British films, I just wish we had a bigger film industry.

Oh I sent you an e-mail to the gmail address on your website. I didn't want to post what I had to say on the Blog ;-).....

Good morning!
Soooo, you are sick of American films.....*snicker*
Whereas I LOVE all the British sitcoms they import here...whenever I can view them.
They don't show it anymore, but Are You Being Served was so funny! Now we get to see "Waiting for God" and there's another one about the female minister...saucy and cheeky...loved it. Also there's one, the title escapes me, but it's..Keeping Up Appearances maybe? She's always trying to be more than she is...and her poor husband suffers through it like a true martyr. The things that woman does has me rolling my eyes and rolling on the floor with laughter at times. I don't think American sitcoms are as funny and cleverly witty as British sitcoms. Just my humble opinion.

I've always wondered if we are getting the episodes after the series has concluded on British TV or are we watching them in "real" time..when the popularity is enjoyed on both sides of "the pond"(?)
Can you clue me in???
Oh, Did you ever watch Dr. Who when it was on? The old ones. Loved that series.

As far as watching the new War of The Worlds....don't waste your money. Wait until it comes out in DVD and rent it. My DH saw it and he's a die-hard WOTW fan. The TV series had too much gratuitous violence to be truly good. At least they used the original 50's ships. This newest one , with totally forgettable Tom Cruise -is a waste of your eye strain.
The book, although wordy,is MUCH better.
BTW-what movies from your country would you recommend a Yank to watch that kind of gives the watcher a feel for excellent or good quality British filmmaking???
Anyway...Thanks for saying HI on my blog!!!
Ciao

Hi Michele,

Don't get me wrong, I watch a lot of American films, Some of my favorites are American. It's just sometimes it feels like were being invaded. Hours of American TV on all our networks etc. I think you get our series when they have aired here, just soon afterwards. It's the same here usually we get American TV first on Pay Satelite & then on Free TV independant & BBC.

I'll wait for the DVD of WOTW, if you think it's naff. Dr Who now thats a cult series if there ever was one. Yes I like Dr Who it's great. I like the new series that BBC have just shown Christopher Ecclestone is great. But I grew up with Dr Who so I like the old series too. As for British films, there are loads let me think about it for a while, then I'll sort you out a list of some of the better ones.

Bye for now
