Audio Blog & Elizabeth Gaskell - Mary Barton

This is my AudioBlog for
today. What I've been
upto since I last posted
etc.

1.94MB 4 Mins 15 Secs

This is the Project Gutenberg text version of the book which you can do as you please with its out of copyright.

Elizabeth Gaskell - Mary Barton

This is a beautiful book, Elizabeth Gaskell evokes a complete picture of 19th Century Manchester a British city dear to my heart. I never tire of reading this book which in it's detail provides a fascinating insight into life in Manchester one of our great northern cities.

Interesting audio blog. Video the other day took me 25 minutes to download...I did see it, but by the time I was able to watch it, I had to leave. Hence no comment posted.
Audio is MUCH faster.
Question....getting "pissed" with your Dad..I hope that means you got drunk???? Here it means you would've gotten royally mad or furious....um,...did you tell your parents yet about your condition?
BTW- in the news, there's only one supplier in the US who can make or hopes to make the flu shot for the avian flu should it be neccesary in this country. Sounds too selective to me. I forsee abuse by this scenario should it come to pass. Very annoying.

Anyway, glad you got to see you dad. I'm supposed to see mine tomorrow...had hoped to see Wallace and Gromit and the Curse of the Were-Rabbit with my Mom and Aunt tomorrow. I hope it works out.
The rain has stopped today, but now we are under a flood warning. There's a major river about 20 minutes from my house. When it floods, it is amazing! Haven't had rain like this around here in years...absolutely thrilling.
Hope you are feeling well today and thanks for stopping by my blog and saying Hi!

Hi Michele,

The video is always a bit of a compromise. The quality is directly related to the file size so although I try to keep the file size low it's not always possible. I think what I'll do is to post both video & audio files that should sort the problem. Getting pissed here means drunk lol. I forget sometimes that although we both speak English, sometimes the words mean different things over there & over here :)

No unfortunately I'm a coward I still have not told them anything about the HIV. Bad I know but they live a long way from here & would only worry. I don't want to upset them without good reason.

The avian flu vaccination is a difficult one. Although a vaccine exists for the HN51 strain, no one knows wether or not it will mutate & mix with the human flu virus so it may not prove effective.

It was good seeing my dad I get to see them only infrequently these days because of the distance. I hope to see the Wallace & Gromit film soon it looks good. It takes Nick Park & his team of animators a year to make one film that's mad isn't it.

Sorry to here your in threat of flooding that's not good at all is it. Yes I'm Ok at the moment I hope all is well with you & yours......Speak to you soon :)
